The structure of the Pontinatura’s farms contains several technologically innovative elements.
It is among the most modern company for the cultivation of cutting salads and is designed to ensure product quality, service and safety to customers.
Below are some of the technologies used in the Pontinatura’s cultivation sites.
• the member farms are substantially “modular”: the basic structure consists of large multi-tunnels of high galvanized steel;
• the aeration system of the productive lots is of twofold nature: the first realized is at “wing of gull”, for the modalities of opening of the window; the second system is defined simply to “double window” because of the number of parts that open in the arch; both with automated management through the constant control of internal and external temperature parameters to the greenhouses themselves, humidity, wind speed and rain;
• irrigation is carried out using two types of plants: automated sliding bars or sprinklers of various capacities.
The water resource used is exclusively from wells.
As for the collection and processing of the product, we use special equipment that can optimize all the stages of the process to obtain the best quality and health possible, such as:
• electric harvesting machines to prevent the release of pollutants into the cultivation environment;
• two automated washing lines for lamb’s lettuce;
• three rapid refrigeration systems of the freshly collected and washed product (Vacuum Cooler);
• a total area of 900 sqm of cold stores at controlled temperature and humidity;
• a line for shrink-wrapped polypropylene packaging.
